Hi friends! I’ve had so much busyness going on with life lately that I’ve not been able to focus and connect with you as much as I would like. While running errands yesterday I had this overwhelming sense of gratitude come over me. I was out taking care of a seemingly endless list of to-dos, and went through the Starbucks drive thru to grab a coffee. I remembered seeing a few people share their starbucks card on instagram and knew instantly that’s what I could do.
I wanted to look you all in the eyes, say thank you and give you a big ‘ol, way too long, awkward hug 😉 I’m a hugger. Because, logistics, that just isn’t possible. I have been guilty of reading sentiments online and glazing over them because they are just words. Sometimes words fall flat. This was a tangible way I could let you know I genuinely appreciate you so very much. I only wish I could buy every single one of you coffee (and a slice of lemon pound cake!).
Another amazing result of this was the commenters who wanted to know how they too could share their starbucks card with friends! Big warm feelies over here 🙂 If you want to share yours, it’s simple, just screenshot your card’s barcode and post it wherever you like. You can also purchase a separate card via starbucks.com and use that one to share with friends. I’ve read online where you can actually have others deposit to a card and create a sort of “pay it forward” circle, this guy’s experiment is amazing: http://jonathanstark.com/card/.
The card has since been used up, but the kind comments keep rolling in, and those make me feel a bit uncomfortable because now I feel good about doing something nice for you because you do something nice for me every day. What an amazing “problem” to have 🙂 Thank YOU. Thank you for trusting me to provide you with the best foundation for your website. I am unable to effectively articulate what it feels like to be able to do what I love while staying home with my kids, running errands, and dealing with whatever hurdles life throws my way knowing my business continues to flourish. It is all because of you. Without you, there would be no PDCD.
I’ll definitely be doing this again. xo
