Little Things Make Big Things Happen.
The seemingly endless, monotonous tasks in life can either continue to be something we dread, or we can find joy in every little thing. Case in point: Laundry and dishes, man.
This week, as I meticulously analyze every word of our support documents, watching the hours go by, I’ve realized the immense importance of this “maintenance” task. This little thing will make a HUGE difference in the overall experience our customers have setting up their pretty new website. There’s a reason web design and development is a multi-billion dollar industry, it’s not easy or fun for everyone. Every little word matters. The order of the tutorials matter. Double checking all plugins used are up to date, matters.
When you throw yourself into something with purpose, a true appreciation naturally develops. Having those words come to me as I sit here “not creating”, which is usually the cause of underlying resentment I feel when I’m performing tedious tasks, I realized I was actually truly enjoying pouring through the user experience. Because I’m working with purpose, and could envision you sitting at your computer reading our setup documentation one of two ways…
We love a good happy dance party around here, naturally I prefer the latter for you as well.
I have several goals for 2017, and one of them, while incredibly cliche on the surface, is to find joy in every little thing.
Because, Little Things Make Big Things Happen.
Another, is to stop writing things off that sound cliche 😉
Let’s purpose to find the FUN in every little thing this year, and if something just isn’t fun? Make it fun.
Laundry? Wine and Netflix!
Dishes? Remember all those years you watched your Grandmother, or Mom do dishes and how fun it looked as a kid. Also, remember there are a bajillion Moms doing the exact same thing for their family at the exact same time. Also, also… wine 😉
Did you set goals for the new year? I’d love to hear ’em in the comments.
Let’s make 2017 one big dance party!
Happy New Year, friends!
