When we sent out an email a few weeks back asking what you found to be the most difficult part of blogging, one of the most common answers was formatting your blog posts to look how you envisioned. Never fear, friends, that’s what we’re here for!
5 Tools to Help Format Your Blog Posts
This is a fun little plugin that allows you to place charts and graphs within your blog posts, and pages!
You can use this handy plugin anywhere on your site, but it comes in especially handy when you’d like things to be side by side. Try this one out in widget areas as well as pages.
Tables are built into our WordPress themes, but this plugin takes it to the next level. If you find yourself in need of tables often, try TablePress.
Canva has been described as the easiest to use graphics software available, and they now have a WordPress plugin to keep it even more convenient. I wrote about it a couple years back here. **Update – This plugin has not been updated in over a year, so I recommend using the Canva app directly. https://www.canva.com/
And, of course, no formatting post would be complete without mentioning at least one photo gallery plugin. This one is awesome. It was actually updated merely hours ago, which is always a good sign. Check it out. Masonry view, thumbnail view, a slideshow option and even mosaic. Lots of options for a free plugin!
Remember, you have these fun little built in features as well:
- Bold and/or italicize text to make it stand out.
- Create a list like this one within your visual editor.
- Add a blockquote like this in there.
Remember when writing your blog posts to keep paragraphs separated, your content clear, and your graphics simple. The less you “design” the more easy it will be on the eyes of your readers.
