It’s January 1st, a brand new year, a fresh start, all that good stuff. I’m bringing back our Love On Your Blog series to help set us off on the right foot. Let’s get our sites functioning their best shall we?
I decided to begin with site speed, because if your site is too slow, nothing else really matters as people “bounce” after more than a few seconds. I’m going to keep this super simple and include my favorite tools for getting your site to load lightning fast.
3 Tools To Increase WordPress Site Speed
Those 3 Tools To Increase WordPress Site Speed are super easy to add, and will make a world of difference. I tried several caching plugins over a several month period to be sure I was using and recommending the best. While W3 is a bit more involved to configure, the benefits are more than worth an extra few minutes to dig in and adjust.
Tech Tip: It’s important to remember when troubleshooting issues with your site… If you do not see changes immediately, be sure you’ve emptied your cache via the W3 plugin, and turned your CloudFlare settings to development mode. These plugins work by storing a snapshot of your site to be shared quicker with your visitors.
Keep in mind, some things are worth an extra half a second load time.
I hope you find these 3 Tools To Increase WordPress Site Speed helpful!

Thanks for this. Just want to clarify, you are using all three plug-ins at once?
Hi Erlene, Cloudflare is a service, so you don’t need a plugin, but yes I use all three at once.
Are you using the Smush Plugin in place of the MaxCDN?
I don’t use Max CDN, it’s recommended in the linked article with the W3 settings, but I’m able to accomplish the load time I need by using CloudFlare and W3 as well as the smush plugin to help compress images.
